Up! Up! and AWAY!!!!

I am back from a week in Denver and I have another fabulous 100 Proof Press project to share with you! I must confess, I've had this completed for some time now, I just hadn't had a chance to get it photographed and up on the blog!

Up and Away!

I used the Hot Air Balloon image from 100 Proof Press three times to create my baloons. Actually, I stamped it six times because I backed each one, as well.

Up and Away (2)

Of course a bit of distress ink, glass glitter, and some fabulous ribbon and vwala!

Up and Away (base)

A super fun little Up, Up, and Away spoolie!!!! And, I have to mention that the spool concept was totally inspired by the fabulous Jan!

Happy Birthday!

Saturday was my birthday.  And I didn't post, I KNOW!  That's horrible, but I'm posting now, so it's all good, right?  Right. K.  It was actually QUITE fabulous.  I spent the day with The Hubbums.  He took me to the mall to check out the camera he is getting me for my birthday!!!  YAY!!!!  NEW CAMERA!!!!  They didn't have the right model for me to check out, but we still wandered a bit, stopped at the crepe and gelato place for lunch (*LOVE!!!*) and enjoyed the time together.  We went to Barnes and Noble for a bit for tea and Italian Soda and hung out there for awhile, and then we met my parents at a great Mexican place near my house for dinner where they 'kindly' let the waitstaff know it was my birthday so they could sing Feliz Cumpleanos and put whipped cream on my nose.  Yay.  HA!  It was fun!  Overall, a GREAT day!  Plus, I now have a subscription to Art Doll Quarterly thanks to The Hubbums and an adorable new dress from my parents that I LOVE!!!  And my sister gave me a super cute Keep Calm and Eat Cupcakes journal!  *CUTENESS!*  Overall, a great day.  Sunday was pretty good, too, actually.

But, alas, I have a birthday card to share with you since, well, it was my birthday!  Hee-hee!  A simple one, but sometimes I think simple is perfect!

Happy Birthday

Simple white cardtock base, with tapes from Modes4U and a stamped Sentiment from Skipping Stones!  Love it!

Anyway, I hope you had a fabulous weekend!  Happy Valentine's Day!

Jingle Out.

I'd Like to Introduce, Elayna...

Elayna

This is Elayna.  She is a cloth and clay doll that I created for a wonderful new friend that I discovered through an art doll swap!

Elayna (Upper)

Elayna is a sweet spirited girl with a love for a simple vintage way of life.  She loves to read and takes great joy in creating her own clothing.  She also likes to sparkle a bit, though, as you can see by her shining diamond necklace.

Elayna (side)

She takes pride in her large collection of books.  Elayna particularly loves her classic fairy tales!  They just take her away!

Elayna (back)

She has long, beautiful hair and a weakness for all things lace!    She loves to tie her hair back with pretty ribbons!

Elayna (seated)

Elayna prefers to do her frolicking barefoot, too!  Particularly when there are fields of flowers involved!  How wonderfully spent is an afternoon in a field of flowers, with bare feet, reclined on a blanket with a good book while the sun creates tingles on her radiant face.

Namaste {More than Just a CSN Review}

I recently told you all about the products I would be receiving from CSN to try out and review.  I chose the Valeo Inc Yoga Kit which includes a sticky mat, two blocks, a strap, and a simple bag to store your mat.

I was hesitant to choose this particular kit because, well, quite frankly, the extremely low price made me think the quality may not be very good.  I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived!  The mat is fantastic!  It is long, sticks to the floor wonderfully, and is a comfortable thickness even on my hardwood floors at home.  The blocks are sturdy and good quality and the strap is your every day yoga strap...again, good quality.  This kit is SUCH a great value, in my opinion!

I also chose two Yoga DVD's to help me get started on a regular, daily practice.  I selected Rodney Yee's Yoga for Beginners and Maintenance Yoga for Weight Loss.

Can I tell you something completely honest.  I have never done anything better for myself.  Well, okay, maybe allowing myself to embrace art and fully emerge myself in it, but this is right there with it.  And even better, my art and my yoga practice seem to compliment one another so very well.  For me, I am finding that even this early in my development of a regular yoga practice, it is becoming a lifestyle for me.  I can't really describe it, other than the fact that I am so aware and through that awareness I find control, calm, and peace in my day.  I have even found that even if I am running late, it is better for me to give myself that 20 minutes of yoga time and be a little late than to skip it.  My day is truly enriched by this practice.  I hope to collect a few more DVD's as I like the variety and the different perspectives of the instructors.  Overall, this is one of the best items I've ever reviewed and I am so thankful to CSN stores for the opportunity.

Do you practice yoga?  Art?  Both?  Do you love it?

Inhale.

Exhale.

Pause.

Namaste.

It's Samantha Walker Blog Hop Day!!!

And I have two super quick projects to share with you today! The first is a fun little pin cushion that I created using a (cleaned out) tuna can!!! Yup! I love using things others would throw away!

Samantha Walker Pin Cushion

The fabric is from the Cowboy collection by Samantha Walker for Riley Blake Designs. The paper is from the coordinating Cowgirl collection by Samantha Walker for Creative Imaginations! I love using these coordinating collections together! So fun!

My second project is a set of adorable clips made with the Ooh La La collection by Samantha Walker for Creative Imaginations!

Tea? Clips

I covered basic clothespins with the papers and then cut the shapes with my Cricut. The vintage buttons add the finishing touch!

Tea? Clip Set (close)

If you came from Guiseppa's blog you are already on the right track! If you just hopped onto my blog you can start the blog hop at Samantha's blog. The next stop along the way is Nancy's blog!

The Should Just Call it Crack. I mean, really. Just say'n.

It's another Sketch Tuesday with Skipping Stones Design and I have a fun little card for you today! I rather like it, anyway! HA!

You see, I'm not a coffee drinker, I'm a tea and Diet Coke and martinis kind of girl. Not necessarily in that order. HA! So, the point here is that if I am having coffee and I'm not a diner, it's probably for one reason and one reason only. I am THAT tired. Just say'n.

They Should Just Call it Crack

Thus, when I saw this great stamp set from Skipping Stones, I had to laugh. Because, well, first of all CHECK OUT THAT LOGO stamp!!! HA! I love it! AND...really. Honesty is important, folks. It really is. Thus...they should just call it crack. That's all I'm saying here, ladies and gentlemen. That's all I'm say'n.

Crack...close

This fabulous sketch was created by the wonderful Lea Lawson and I just inverted it. Because I'm like that and stuff. That little tag is actually a door hanger I cut really really really small on Sally the Cricut. Because it is a hook. And it gets you 'hooked.' HAHAHA!!! Get it?? HA!!! I crack myself up! HHHAAAAAAA CRACK!!!!! I didn't even do that one on purpose! Today must be a good day! HA!

Don't forget to check out what all of the Stamp Tramps have created!!!

To The Ends of the Earth...

***If you have come for the OWOH event, please see the link below my header to find the correct post! Thanks!***

Have I ever mentioned that I scrapbook? HA! I know!!! It's been like FOREVER since you have seen a layout from me, but, here you go. It's actually been about a year or so. Let's just call it a 'break.' K? K. Thanks. I still won't be doing them as much as I used to, but here and there and now and then and such. I think I rather enjoyed creating this one!

I love you to the ends of the earth

This photo is from a mini gold game last summer. I had SO much fun taking pictures that day!!!

DSCN7505

DSCN7507

The background paper, stickers, alphas, and fabric strips are all Studio Calico. I used a sheet of Basic Grey paper in there, too, along with some brads from Close To My Heart and Creative Imaginations.

DSCN7506

The flowers and the clip were just in my stash.

So...there you have it. One genuine scrapbook layout created by the one and only Jingle! HA! ....I should probably have some photos printed now....hmmmm.....just say'n.

***Don't forget to visit the Scrolls Work Facebook page and tell them I sent you over! You can invite your friends to win a $50 grab bag of stamps!

Fairy Cupie Doll in a Pot, Anyone?

Why, yes. I think that a Fairy Cupie Doll in a Pot, is, indeed, in order! However, I do want to to mention a couple of quick things first.

1. If you found me via the One World One Heart event, please see the notice/link below my header to be brought to the OWOH post. I love your comments elsewhere, however, that is the one to post to win my door prize shown in that post.

2. If you have not done so already, you TOTALLY need to check out the Scrolls Work Facebook page! Like their fan page and then invite your friends to win a $50 Grab Bag!!! Tell them that I sent you!!!!

Okay...now on to the Cupie Cuteness! Hee-Hee! That's just fun to say!

Why, yes. It just so happens that that IS the most adorable thing you have ever seen! HA!!! I stamped her with a super FABULOUS 100 Proof Press stamp that is officially called a Wavy Haired Naked Doll. Anyway, you cut it, she is PURE cuteness!

Her wings are cut with Sally the Cricut and she is planted in a cute little terra cotta pot painted with multiple layers of acrylic, crackle, and glaze and then covered in happy glass glitter!!!! *LOVE!*

So, basically, she is 100 PROOF CUTENESS!!!!

Jingle Out.

Hee-Hee!!!

It's Friends With Flair Friday and I played with Samantha Walker Stamps!!!

***If you are looking for One World One Heart, this is not the post to win! Please see the note below my header!***

I am joining in a super fun blog hop today! It's Friends With Flair with Unity Stamps! YAY!!!! If you came from Cindy's blog you must already be hopping along! If not, you can get started over at the Unity blog!

My Heart Valentine (1)

I used a super fun stamp set, Bones About Halloween by Samantha Walker for Unity.

Yup. You read that right. I used Halloween stamps for a Valentine's card. FUN!!!

My Heart Valentine (close)

The papers and that adorable patterned ribbon are all Samantha Walker for Creative Imaginations. I added the words around the edges with a pen. The heart is punched and then added with foam adhesive for extra POP! LOVE IT! Actually, I totally thought of another idea for a Valentine with this set, so you may see another one soon!

The next stop on the hop trail is Angie over at My Scraptastic World!

Leave a comment to let me know you were here! I love to know what you are thinking! Happy Friday, folks!

Transforming Simple Brown Paper Bags Into Super CUTENESS!

This is a fun one, folks! For reals. So, here's the thing. you take an ordinary boring brown paper bag (mine are little ones) and add some stamps, paper, ribbon, and a heap'n dose of CUTENESS and guess what you get????

Yup. Happy little gift bags of adorableness. Just say'n.

This first one I created using three fun Scrolls Work stamps. First, I stamped the gorgeous marble background in distress ink on the bag itself. Then I stamped the Tattered Fairy Wings (one of my favorites!) across the bag over the background. This is done in London Fog Momento Ink. I stamped the Prescription bottle (plate #69) on white stamping paper with distress ink and then spritzed it with water to let the ink run a bit. I love how that turned out!!!

Love Potion Gift Bag (1)

To finish off the bag I punched the top with a Martha Stewart decorative punch and then used my Crop-a-dile to add holes for the twine. I adhered a wonderful ribbon bow to the bottle and cut the heart from patterned paper. Overall, I'm in love. Just say'n.

Love Potion (bottle)

After creating that one, I did a couple of other things, but I just couldn't get those little brown bags out of my head! SOooo... I decided to make another one for the Coffee Filter challenge over at Gingersnap Creations!

Coffe Filter Flower Gift Bag (1)

For this one I began by inking the edges of a script paper panel and adhering it directly to the bag. I created the coffee filter flower using layered filters (the cone kind) cut to different sizes. I sprayed the entire flower liberally with Glimmer Mist to add the color and shimmer. LOVE IT! The center is a fabulous giant vintage button. *LOVE* I stamped above and below the panel and then, again, punched the top of the bag and added a bit of ribbon to finish it out.

Coffee Filter Flower Gift Bag (3)

All I can say, is that if you have never altered a paper bag you need to go get one and do it NOW! For reals. You won't regret it! I had SO much fun creating these! It almost makes me want to give people presents or something! HA!!!

Another Snow Day, a quick ATC, and my explosion...errrr....I mean Workspace for WOYWW!

Today is another snow day. Another couple of feet on top of what is still lingering from the past few weekly storms. Seriously - we have been getting a storm every week since Christmas! Every single one of them has brought more than a foot of snow and a couple of them have been multiple feet. This one is actually two back to back storms with an expected total of about two feet. It's NUTS! Weird, really. I have lived in Massachusetts for most of my life and my parents have lived here all of my life and I can't remember a year like this EVER. Have you had an odd winter?

I am hoping to use some of my day off today to create, though! Although...these days to have a way of begging for movies and tea! LOL!

Right now my workspace looks pretty good, actually. Well, from my perspective, anyway! HA!

WOYWW2.2

I have a couple of new goodies on there that I'm excited to play with. I finally broke down and bought Liquid Sculpey (with a coupon, of course!). I am looking forward to playing with it! I have had some ideas that I just thought would work better with that, so I'm going to give it a shot. I also bought some charcoal pencils to use in my ATC's and mixed media stuff. I am looking forward to playing with those.

It was time to be.

If you have a keen eye you may have noticed this little beauty there in the insanity that I call a desk! It's a simple little ATC that I created using a fabulous photo-realistic stamp from Scrolls Work Stamps. Her name is Sally! I stamped it on a textured ATC base giving it a really interesting, textured look. Then I used Luminarte Twinkly H2O's to watercolor around the image and added the words cut from a vintage book and the clock!

So, that's pretty much what I've been up to! And I am loving every minute of the One World One Heart event that you can check out by clicking on the link you see just below my banner! I hope you all have a fabulous Wednesday!!!!

OH...and totally don't forget to mosey on over to Julia's blog to see the other awesome workspaces!!!

It's February! For REALS? Skipping Stones Sketch Tuesday!

Welcome to February, folks! It's a good month in many ways...we've got OWOH going on (see yesterday's post), we have Valentine's Day on it's way and that is always fun, and, of course, my birthday shall arrive in just under two weeks making February simply the best month of the year! HA!!!

We also have a new Guest Sketch Designer over at Skipping Stones Design! The marvelously talented Lea Lawson has provide the sketches for this month and they are quite fun!

Love you

If you visit Skipping Stones Design you can see the sketch and participate for a chance to win a fun prize!!! My card is created with two fun sets...a quick peak of the soon to be released Pumpkin Seeds set (sentiment) and one of my favorite SSD sets, Healing Wings.

Love You Close

I have to be honest with you guys. 'Cause, well, you're my friends and I don't like to lie. The verdict is still out on this card for me. I loved the sketch, I just don't know if I used it as well as I could have. Do you ever have that happen when you create? Love the concept, just not sure it got there? *sigh* I don't know. Sometimes when I come back later I see it differently, but this one is still sort of sketchy.

HA!!! SKETCHY! I so didn't mean to do that, but it's funny, I gotta say! HA!

Well, that's my card for today. I hope you leave a happy comment and I also hope you do check out the One World One Heart post from yesterday! Join in! It's wicked fun!!!!
